At the end of 2023, there is widespread flooding and high water throughout northern Germany. Lower Saxony recorded the wettest December since weather records began. We were particularly affected in the Hildesheim region. The persistent rain caused record water levels in the Innerste. Climate scenarios and models tend to predict an increase in such weather phenomena and catastrophic events.
